The SBF Response: This is a cheap historical dodge. The 19th-century Aether was debunked by the Michelson-Morley experiment because it was assumed to be a continuous, passive, non-relativistic medium that should have created a measurable 'Aether wind.'
The DGS is fundamentally different:

My motivation is the capricious quest to forge personal meaning through creative intent. The SBF, in truth, is just a special case of the Meta Bulk Framework (MBF), a deeper theoretical concept. If I grow bored with playing video games, making and watching movies, music, and art, I might spend a couple of weeks explaining the MBF. But I don't think the world is ready for that yet.
